Custom Woodworking in Ellijay, GA
All the products you’ll see here on my website are made of high quality hardwoods, white or red oak, maple, poplar, walnut, cherry or hard southern yellow pine. I can custom build any of the products from your personal choice of wood species. Since I’m a small shop I can also craft your choice in a variety for sizes. For instance, the spice racks can be made to hold more or less of your favorite herbs. If any item is a different size than described on the listing you can send me an email and we can discuss the changes in size and variation in price, if any.
We are located in the sleepy little mountain town of Ellijay, Georgia. For a pretty much city fellow, it is a very welcome change from the area where I grew up just outside Chicago. The people here are so very friendly, if you say “good morning” to a complete stranger you’ll have a conversation on your hands. In Chicago when I said “good morning” to a complete stranger they might reply, “What do you mean by that?”
I probably got my start in woodworking by watching my father every time he performed a project in his workshop. The craft just kind of grew on me. I enjoy about every aspect of crafting my own wood projects. I simply love getting my hands into the wood, from taking a rough piece of oak, planing it down, cutting it into the desired shape, hand sanding it to a fine finish and finally, applying a hand rubbed oil finish. I have a very small workshop in back of my cabin and work on only one piece at a time. I think I enjoy the finishing more than anything. I always say that if it doesn’t feel right, it doesn’t look right.
